This weekend I had the great opportunity to go with my husband to Portland, ME for a Real Estate conference and event! I had so much fun. On Thursday we got to go on a ferry boat to a private island to look at million dollar properties. Though it rained most of the day it was still so fun to actually get to go inside these amazing homes and see how they looked. They were AMAZING! The kitchens and views are what you see in the magazines. And I got to see them! Then we finished the night off with a traditional Maine Lobster
bake at Diamonds Edge Restaurant on Casco Bay.
The event ended on Saturday morning with the guest speaker Ryan Estis. Ryan is a performance
expert who helps sales associates connect more effectively with their
customers. He was a very captivating and dynamic speaker. Now that I am starting to get more involved in my husband real estate business I took tons of notes. I love this stuff. I love business, self improvement, and personal development books, conferences, and webinars/podcasts etc...You name it! I really have a desire to become successful on doing this kind of stuff.
Here are so great take-a ways from the conference:
When you are at a cocktail party or any event, instead of going around asking everyone what they do, ask them "What do you like to do when you are not working? This question helps make a more meaningful connection which is essential in sales. Find a connection with your client. Build rapport and Build trust.
1. Listen to your Clients
Good sales calls listen 70% and talk 30%
2. Provide Valuable Insight
Show your client that you have a specialized expertise greater than your competition.
3. Show a Sense of Urgency
How to be assertive and not be too aggressive.
Don't want them to miss out on the special, amazing, opportunity.
I have some more great tips I will share with you in another post! Stay tuned...
Have a wonderful day!
